Add free-agent guard Monta Ellis to the list of guards on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ radar, according to a recent report from The Athletic.
Ellis, 32, most recently played for the Indiana Pacers during the 2016-17 season, when he averaged 8.5 points in 74 games. He was waived following year and did not play in the NBA season.
Ellis has also spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks.
Along with Ellis, the Timberwolves are taking a look at veteran free-agent guard Brandon Paul and swingman Brandon Rush, The Athletic reported.
The Timberwolves have been in the news a lot lately, reportedly agreeing to a one-year deal with free-agent small forward Luol Deng on Monday.
They have also expressed an interest in older free agents such as Nick Young, Arron Afflalo and Corey Brewer, as well as comparatively inexperienced pros such as Rashad Vaughn, Eric Moreland, Marcus Georges-Hunt and John Jenkins.
