Heat’s Johnson out at least a week with ankle injury

James Johnson averaged 10.8 points in 2017-18.

Miami Heat forward James Johnson underwent an MRI on Sunday that revealed right ankle bursitis and the swingman will miss the next seven to 10 days, according to the team.

Johnson suffered the injury Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers while attempting to block Clippers guard Jawun Evans and did not return to the game.

On the season, Johnson is averaging 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 49.4 percent from the field.

Johnson joins Hassan Whiteside (bone bruise in knee) and Justise Winslow (strained knee) on the Heat injury list.
