Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss at least three more games with a strained groin suffered on Christmas Day, the team announced in a news release.
That means James is out for Sunday’s home game against the Cavaliers.
James and the Lakers notched a hard-fought win over the Cavs in their lone Cleveland appearance on the night before Thanksgiving.
James, 34, has already missed eight straight games, tying his career high. His consecutive-missed games streak will now be a new personal record.
He missed eight straight with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2014-15 season with a leg injury.
The Lakers had lost five of their first six without LeBron, but bounced back to win two in a row. They visit the Utah Jazz (who are without six players themselves) on Friday night.
James is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists in his first season with the Lakers.
