Lakers request waivers on Blue

Vander Blue is now a free agent after being released by the Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived guard Vander Blue, according to a report from Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

Blue was on a two-way contract, signed in October.

Kyler tweeted he interviewed Blue on Thursday and “could tell he was a little frustrated.”

A 6-foot-5 guard, Blue appeared in five games with the Lakers, averaging less than a point and an assist in 9.0 minutes per game.

He also appeared in 15 games for the South Bay Lakers of the G League, compiling averages of 19.0 points and 5.3 for the Lakers’ affiliate.

Blue, 25, went undrafted out of Marquette in 2013.
