A quick look at Wednesday’s preseason NBA action.
Timberwolves 111, Warriors 97
Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns each scored 16 points to lead the Timberwolves in the first of two games in China. Taj Gibson added 13 and seven rebounds.
Kevin Durant scored 20 in 25 minutes to lead the Warriors.
Nuggets 122, Lakers 104
The NBA scoring system went down, so no official bx score available. According to the Denver Post, Jamal Murray scored 20 on 5-of-6 shooting on 3-pointers to lead the Nuggets.
Mavericks 118, Bulls 71
Harrison Barnes scored 17 and rookie Dennis Smith Jr. erupted with 14 points and an overall impressive showing to lift the Mavericks.
Paul Zipser and Robin Lopez scored 12 apiece to lead the Bulls.
Pacers 104, Bucks 86
Myles Turner scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 24 minutes to lift the Pacers.
Lance Stephenson also scored 17. Newcomer Victor Oladipo had 15.
The Bucks were led by 15 points from Gary Payton II.
Hornets 108, Pistons 106
Rookie Malik Monk gave an impressive showing and scored 19 points to lead the Hornets.
Jeremy Lamb added 18 and Dwight Howard scored 12 and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Andre Drummond scored 16 points and grabbed 15 boards for the Pistons. Aveery Bradley added 14 points, and rookie guard Luke Kennard had 10.
Hawks 109, Cavaliers 93
Dennis Schroder scored 18 points and Taurean Prince had 15 as the Hawks cruised.
Kevin Love led the Cavs regulars with 12 points. Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose, playing their first games as Cavaliers, each scored seven. (Dribbles)
Grizzlies 110, Sixers 89
Brandan Wright had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead the Grizzlies. Andrew Harrison added 14.
Jahlil Okafor scored 13 to pace the Sixers. Ben Simmons (6 points) and Markelle Fultz (4 points) combined to shoot just 4-of-21.
Jazz 117, Maccabi 78
Alec Burks scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Jazz in a rout.
