Outlook: It’s Anthony Davis and a bunch of guys who are nice role players and nothing more. Welcome to another year of Pelicans basketball. Perhaps the best hope outside of Davis? Buddy Hield, a rookie who may be a little undersized to play shooting guard in the NBA. In other words, Hield is another question mark in a long line of them in New Orleans. You have to wonder — in these days of guys switching teams simply because that’s what they were taught in AAU — how much longer Davis will be here. All that said, Davis alone can make this a team to watch. But let’s be honest, it’s not going anywhere.
