Pacers fear standout guard Oladipo lost for season

Pacers guard Victor Oladipo is having another All-Star season for the continuing-to-rise Pacers.

The Indiana Pacers are fearing that star guard Victor Oladipo has suffered a season-ending right knee injury, according to multiple reports.

Oladipo collapsed under the basket during the Pacers’ 110-106 home win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. A trainer placed a towel over Oladipo’s knee before Oladipo was carried off the court on a stretcher. Oladipo gave the thumbs up to fans as he was taken to the locker room.

“I just slipped and I knew it was serious,” he told reporters.

A preliminary exam gave the Pacers reason to believe the injury will require surgery, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. He will undergo an MRI on Thursday.

Oladipo and the Pacers have been a perfect match since the team acquired him from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the trade centered on perennial All-Star Paul George.

Oladipo is averaging 19.2 points this season, and at 32-15, the Pacers sit in third in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors (36-14) were in sole possession of first until their loss at Indy.
