Indiana Pacers forward Thaddeus Young has exercised his $13.7 million player option for next season, according to a report from ESPN.
There was talk that Young was considering entering free agency at one point this offseason. He’ll be a unrestricted free agent next summer.
The 29-year-old averaged 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds this past season, shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 32.0 percent from three.
Young and the Pacers took the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the first-round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The 6-8 swingman posted averages of 11.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals against the Cavs.
