Pack joins Brooks’ staff in Washington

Robert Pack has been hired as an assistant coach for Wizards coach Scott Brooks, according to a report.

The Washington Wizards are hiring former NBA guard Robert Pack to join the Scott Brooks’ coaching staff, according to a report.

Adria Wojnarowski of ESPN reported the news Friday night.

Marc Stein of The New York Times originally broke the story that the hiring of Pack was imminent Wednesday night.

Pack, who spent three seasons on Brooks’ staff in Oklahoma City (2013-15) and he will be reunited with Mike Terpstra, with whom he served on Brooks’ staff in OKC.

Pack then spent two seasons on Alvin Gentry’s staff with the New Orleans Pelicans before taking a job in the Portland Trail Blazers’ organization last season.

As a player, Pack started 31 games for the Washington Bullets in the 1995-96 season, averaging 18.1 points and 7.8 assists until a leg injury ended his season.
