Casey meets with Pistons about coaching vacancy

Former Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey is meeting with the Detroit Pistons about their coaching vacancy, according to a report from ESPN.

The Pistons parted ways with Stan Van Gundy last month. Casey was fired by the Raptors after the club lost to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers yet again in the postseason.

Toronto had the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference this season with a record of 59-23, but were swept by James and the Cavaliers in the second-round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

Casey had been with the Raptors since 2011. He compiled a regular season record of 320-238, but was just 21-30 in the postseason.

The Pistons are also interviewing TNT analyst Kenny Smith, Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard and San Antonio Spurs assistant Ime Udoka.
