The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that All-Star big man Joel Embiid sustained a fracture to the orbital bone of his left eye and will have to undergo surgery.
Embiid suffered the injury Wednesday after butting heads with guard Markelle Fultz. He also has a concussion.
A full timetable on when Embiid can return to the court will be given once the surgery is completed.

On the season, Embiid is averaging 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.
Pending the results of surgery, Embiid could return to play in 2-4 weeks, per league source. First round obviously in some jeopardy.
