Timberwolves’ Towns erupts again to join AD, Wilt, others

Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timerwolves fought past the Hornets.

Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns now belongs to an exclusive club.

Towns finished with 37 points and 14 rebounds in the Wolves’ 121-99 road win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday,┬ábecoming just the sixth player to record just 35 points and 10 rebounds in each of the season’s first two games.

Others to have accomplished the feat: Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, Elgin Baylor, Moses Malone and Anthony Davis.

The Timberwolves are 2-0; the Hornets fell to 1-1.

Surprising backup point guard Devonte’ Graham scored 24 to lead the Hornets one game after going for 23.
