The New York Knicks brought in North Carolina combo guard Coby White for a draft-day workout, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
It marked the second audition by a potential lottery pick in front of Knicks’ brass in less than 48 hours. The Knicks also worked out Vanderbilt point guard Darius Garland earlier this week.
While the Knicks are seemingly locked in on Duke forward R.J. Barrett with the No. 3 overall pick, the recent workouts have led to speculation that they may be looking to trade down.
Both the New Orleans Pelicans (fourth overall) and Cleveland Cavaliers (fifth) have been exploring ways to move up — as both teams are said to have eyes for Barrett.
According to Ian Begley of SNY.tv, the Knicks are open to trading down with the right offer. They have worked out Garland, White and Texas Tech shooting guard Jarrett Culver, and have met with Duke forward Cam Reddish.
“Expectation remains that they take RJ Barrett at 3 if he’s there,” Begley reported.
The Knicks reportedly rejected an offer from the Atlanta Hawks for the No. 3 pick.
