The Peruvian team is getting better and better. Pedro Aquino, who arrived in the capital on Monday night, was among the last to join the focus headquarters with the goal of setting the triple date for the Qatar 2022 qualifiers.
“I am happy to wear red and white again. We know there will be three important finals, but I came to contribute,” The midfielder, who plays for America in Mexico, said when reporters attended at Jorge Chavez Airport, moments before boarding the car that would take him to the hotel.
Aquino was consulted in an interview with the press regarding his absence in the previous calls, and replied:It’s the technical leadership decisions, but from Mexico I was a fan and I hope my team wins and does well. Now I’m here, eager to play.”
The Peruvian team worked on Monday with 23 players. In addition to Aquino, Sergio Peña, Anderson Santamaría, Raúl Ruídias and Miguel Trauco have not yet arrived. With them, the squad will be complete and will continue to prepare for the difficult challenges ahead.
Peru will face the Pacific Classic against Chile on Thursday, October 7 at the National Stadium, from 8:00 pm (Peruvian time). The transmission channels are Movistar Deportes and Latina. Bolivia (Sunday 10) and Argentina (Thursday 14) will be Blanqueroga’s next contenders.
