Several people within the Golden State Warriors are concerned star forward Kevin Durant is already focused on leaving, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Durant is eligible for free agency in July and has done nothing to squelch the talk that he may not return.
“There are members of the organization concerned that Durant’s behavior is a sign that he’s already got one foot out the door,” Haynes reported. “But there are others who aren’t reading too much into what they consider to be the standard rigors and annoyances of an 82-game season.”
The two-time defending champion Warriors are coming off their worst home loss of the season, a 33-point drubbing at the hands of the Boston Celtics — who entered the night on a major slide.
Durant again acted annoyed during his postgame press conference with reporters. Only this time, it was more directed at coach Steve Kerr, who has led the Warriors to the Finals in each of his four seasons on the sidelines.
When told Kerr said the team was missing passion and anger, Durant responded, “I thought we move off of joy? Now it’s anger? OK. I disagree with that one. I think all around, top to bottom, coaches, players, we just gotta be better.”
