Ukrainian special forces say that the attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet left dozens dead and wounded, “including senior commanders.”

(CNN) — On Saturday, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) posted a new statement on Telegram about the missile attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol in occupied Crimea.

Special Operations Forces say the special operation, dubbed “Cancer Trap,” was timed to coincide with a meeting of senior members of the Russian Navy, and that the attack left dozens dead and wounded, “including senior fleet officials.”

“The daring and precise action of the special operations forces allowed them to strike the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet “on time and accurately” during the gathering of the Russian Navy staff in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol,” she said in the statement.

The statement added: “Data was transferred to the Air Force regarding the attack. Details of the attack will be revealed when possible. The result is dozens of deaths and injuries among passengers, including senior fleet commanders.”

He added: “We keep moving forward!”

Ukraine has not yet provided any details or other evidence of specific losses in the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

So far, the Russian Defense Ministry has only said that one Russian soldier is missing after Friday’s missile attack.

News in development.
